I’m Nicholas King—Windows Server Administrator, full-stack developer, and founder of Columbia Cloudworks LLC. After more than a decade supporting and engineering enterprise infrastructure, I now focus on building practical, AI-powered tools that solve real problems for real businesses.
I started my career in 2011 as an IBM systems administrator working in large, high-pressure environments where reliability mattered every minute of every day. Over the years I became the person who simplified chaos: documenting entire support lifecycles end-to-end, eliminating repetitive toil, and building automation that helped teams operate with clarity instead of firefighting. My time at IBM and later at Kyndryl shaped how I work—solve root causes, build repeatable systems, and always leave an environment stronger than you found it.
Through Columbia Cloudworks LLC, I bring that same mindset into software development. I build durable, intentional products like EquipQR, a fleet-equipment management system for field service teams, along with a growing ecosystem of AI-assisted tools for small businesses and creators. My focus is always on clarity and usefulness—software should serve people, not the other way around—and every project reflects that philosophy.
Outside of my professional work, I’m a Master Mason and someone who believes deeply in craftsmanship, mentorship, and steady, deliberate growth. Whether I’m writing, podcasting, or engineering new tools, I try to create things that help others navigate complexity with confidence. My goal is simple: build systems—and communities—that empower people to do their best work.
